§ 01Overview▾
House Kalyx is the trade and debt house of Chroma Colony — sworn to the Promenade on Deck 7, where the Sphere Bar runs the dial and most of the room owes someone something. Where Vale rules through the Iron Oath and the Ledger, Kalyx rules through accumulated favors, paper IOUs (the Tab-Slip), and a barkeep network that knows everyone's standing without ever filing a thing.
The house is older than people realize. Kalyx ledgers predate the Founding Compact — they were running cargo manifests on Earth-side container shipping before the Vesper L5 was anything but a NASA file number. The transition from terrestrial freight house to colonial trade house was, in their words, "a paperwork cycle, not a revolution."
The house is not military. It does not need to be. A debt that runs through Kalyx is collected by Kalyx, and Kalyx collects.
§ 02Key Figures▾
Roe Kalyx — current voice of the house and proprietor of the Sphere Bar. The role of "voice" is structural, not ceremonial: any house member with a quorum of tabs can be voted in. Roe has held the seat for four cycles.
Ash Kalyx — Promenade enforcer. Friday nights at the Sphere Bar. The kind of person who walks a debtor home rather than break a hand, but only the first time.
